As a reminder, this year, Cradlerock Elementary School is committed to providing essential resources to support our families' needs both at home and school. To achieve this goal, we will continue to share information regarding opportunities, such as these below, to connect families with available resources in our community as we approach the Holiday season.

Toys for Tots Opportunity - Howard County announces the 9th Annual Toys for Tots Campaign led by Howard County Executive Calvin Ball in partnership with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation! Toys for Tots is thrilled to help make the holiday season special for children up to 14yrs old. You may register all your children,not just Cradlerock students, even those 15-17 yrs old. While Toys for Tots cannot guarantee a toy for those 15-17 yrs old, they will do their very best to accommodate.
Families will pick up their toys on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Ascend One Building (8930 Stanford Blvd, Columbia, MD). This is a drive-through event. Families will provide their registration number to a Recreation and Parks volunteer, who will deliver the toys directly to their car. Backpacks for Break - Each child in your family is eligible to receive a backpack filled with easy-to-prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items courtesy of the Kiwanis Club of Ellicott City. The contents of the Backpack are planned to support the entire Winter Break period. All school-age children are eligible.
Backpack Pick Up Information: Backpacks will be available for pick up on Wednesday December 18th and Thursday December 19th. More details will be provided in early December.

Free Bikes 4 Kidz - Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing free bikes and helmets to those most in need. Each child in your family is eligible to receive a gently-used / refurbished bike sized especially for them and a brand new helmet.
Bike Pick Up Information: You will receive an email from Free Bikes 4 Kidz if your bike(s) is ready before the giveaway days. Most bikes will be distributed on a Giveaway Day on December 7th or 14th. The earlier you apply for a bike, the greater the chance you have of receiving it sooner and avoiding the crowds on the primary giveaway days on December 7 or 14th. Please use the link to sign up for a bike(s) for your child(ren) by November 29, 2024.

Just as a reminder, school is closed for students TOMORROW, Thursday, 10/31/24. We look forward to welcoming our Bulldogs back to The Rock on Friday.
