Confidentiality Training Course

Thank you for your interest in volunteering within the Howard County School System! We value our volunteers and the contributions they make to our students and schools.

According to HCPSS Board Policy, all parent volunteers must complete a Confidentiality Training Course about protecting the privacy of our students, staff, and schools.

Family Involvement Team (FIT)
 
The Cradlerock F.I.T. meets virtually the second Friday of each month from 8:00 - 8:30. 
 

The Family Involvement Team is comprised of Cradlerock staff across all grade levels and includes Related Arts and Student Support Services staff as well. 

 

The GOAL of the team is to:

  • Help create positive home-school connections
  • Increase family involvement
  • Maintain effective communications with families
  • Plan family events and programs

Since school day mornings may be difficult for some families to join, please know there are other opportunities for School and Home conversations, including Quarterly Coffee and Conversations and monthly PTA meetings.

Cradlerock Watch D.O.G.S. - New Program starting in October of 2023
 
D.O.G.S. = Dads of Great Students (fathers, father figures, grandads, uncles, etc.)
 
Our Watch D.O.G.S. program provides an opportunity for fathers and father figures to volunteer for a day at Cradlerock.   Some of their responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with student arrival

  • Participating in Morning Announcements and taking a photo with their child for the “Watch D.O.G.S. Wall of Fame” 

  • Following a schedule for the day, that could include playing at recess, eating lunch with students, assisting with lunch, assisting in a classroom, helping to monitor hallway transitions, etc.
